I took my first sewing class at Make Workshop a couple of weeks ago and I made a wallet. This is the first thing I've ever made on my sewing machine. I can't wait to move onto my next sewing project!

Faces on Washington Street

I discovered these chalk faces on Washington St. (between Little West 12th and Gansevoort) in the Meatpacking District last night. I just love running into little unexpected things like this. You can check out Felix Morelo's blog here: www.felixmorelo.com for the backstory.

The Sporkful

My boyfriend Eric and I designed the logo for The Sporkful, a podcast hosted by NPR colleagues Dan Pashman and Mark Garrison. I designed and developed the graphics and layout of the landing page, which serves as a central location to house information about the podcast as well as links to all other content and social media locations. Dan and Mark are really funny so you should really go listen to the podcast.

Lubalin Now

I enjoy working with type and the work of Herb Lubalin has always been one of my biggest inspirations. I'm really glad I was able to catch this exhibit at Cooper Union. Grain Edit, a design blog that I frequent in search of inspiration, summed up the exhibit really well.

@font-face

I've been waiting for a time when I would be able to design sites using typefaces other than the boring system fonts. Now that time has come: www.font-face.com
